Originally discovered the role of FK506 Binding Protein 12(FKBP12) and Bone Morphogenetic Protein 10(BMP10) in cardiogenesis, more specifically in ventricular trabeculation and compaction.
The current focus is on the investigating of a newly defined signaling pathway, FKBP-mediated signaling pathway, with primary emphasis on the function of FKBPs in mammalian development and relevant human diseases.
